10:17. Adjustment of the emergency brake
MODELS WITH BACK DRUM BRAKES
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. For check of adjustment of the emergency brake completely release it, several times press a brake pedal for installation of a normal working gap between brake shoes and a drum, tighten the emergency brake several times for the correct installation of the automatic mechanism of adjustment of the emergency brake. |
| 2. For check of correctness of adjustment of the emergency brake tighten the lever of the emergency brake against the stop and count the number of clicks which has to make 10–11. If the number of clicks differs from specified, it is necessary to make adjustment as follows. |
| 3. Lift a back part of the car and record on supports. |
| 4. For access to the regulator of the emergency brake unscrew nuts and bolts and remove the thermal screen. |

5. Completely release the lever of the emergency brake, weaken a lock-nut. |
|
6. Rotating the regulator on the left forward side of the mechanism, establish a gap (it is specified by an arrow) 0,5–1 mm between a forward and right back cable. Tighten a lock-nut. |
| 7. Check adjustment of the emergency brake, having counted the number of clicks of the lever. |
| 8. Install the thermal screen and lower the car. |

MODELS WITH BACK DISK BRAKES
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. For check of adjustment of the emergency brake completely tighten its lever. |
| 2. Count the number of clicks as the ratchet mechanism. At correctly adjusted emergency brake full tightening happens on 6–7 click. |

Adjustment of brake shoes

1. Lift a back part of the car and record on supports. Remove both back wheels. Using flat-nose pliers, take a stopper from a forward part of the brake disk opening access to the regulator of brakes. |
| 2. Turning a brake disk, establish an opening for adjustment opposite to the regulator of blocks of the emergency brake. |

3. Make sure that the emergency brake is completely released, then insert the screw-driver through an opening for adjustment and completely unclench brake shoes of the emergency brake, rotating an adjusting ring. |
|
4. After a full zatormazhivaniye of a disk brake shoes turn an adjusting ring in the opposite direction on 5–6 teeths therefore the brake disk has to rotate freely. |
| 5. Establish the stopper closing an adjusting opening in a brake disk. |
| 6. Repeat actions for adjustment of a gap of brake shoes on the second wheel. |
| 7. Establish wheels and adjust a cable of the emergency brake. |
