| 1. Remove the brake drum. |
| 2. Observing care and security measures, clear all traces of brake dust from the brake drum, a brake board and blocks. |
| 3. Measure thickness of overlays of brake shoes in several points. If at least one block is worn-out in any place to the minimum thickness, replace all 4 brake shoes. |
|
4. Note the adjusting provision of all elements of a back brake. Using flat-nose pliers, remove a plate of a spring of fixing of a block, pressing a plate and turning it on 90 °. Remove springs and take clamp pins. |
| 5. Remove one brake shoe from the lower support of blocks and disconnect the lower returnable spring. |
| 6. Wring out both blocks from the wheel brake cylinder and remove them. At the same time do not damage boots. Disconnect a cable of the drive of the emergency brake from a brake shoe. For prevention of drop-out of pistons of the working brake cylinder fix pistons by the corresponding elastic band or a wire. |
| 7. Note an arrangement of details of the regulator of brake shoes, remove the lever of the drive of the emergency brake and disconnect the fixing regulator bolt spring from a lobby (on an arrangement) a brake shoe. Disconnect the top returnable spring, separate a front brake shoe and a returnable spring from a back brake shoe. Disconnect the spring fixing the regulator to a back brake shoe (see rice. Arrangement of elements of adjustment of brake shoes). |
| 8. Replace all returnable springs irrespective of their state. |
| 9. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of the regulator to an adjusting level and check their state. Pay special attention to a carving of a bolt of the regulator and a side of an adjusting wheel. Pay attention that the left and right adjusting levels are not interchanged. Bolts of the regulator of the right and left wheel are also not interchanged. The bolt of the regulator of the left wheel has the left carving, and the bolt of the regulator of the right wheel has the right carving. |
| 10. Check that all details on the end of an adjusting level are correctly placed, then apply a small amount of lubricant with high temperature of melting on a regulator bolt carving. Screw an adjusting wheel on a regulator bolt so that between a wheel and a head of a bolt there was a small gap. Insert a regulator bolt into an adjusting level. |
| 11. Establish a returnable spring on back (on an arrangement) a brake shoe so that shorter hook of a spring connected to a block. Establish an adjusting level by the end of a spring. Insert an adjusting level into a groove in a back brake shoe. |
| 12. Establish the top returnable spring on a back brake shoe. Establish the second end of a spring on a front brake shoe and, moving, arrange a forward block so that the head of an adjusting bolt settled down in a flute. After that insert a hook of the fixing spring into a groove on a front brake shoe. |
| 13. Raise rubber protective covers of the brake cylinder and check the working brake cylinder for leak of brake fluid. |

14. Clear details of a back brake. Apply lubricant with high temperature of melting on places of contact of blocks with a brake board. |
| 15. Check that the lever of the emergency brake is located opposite to an edge of a back brake shoe, and remove the elastic band fixing pistons in the brake cylinder. |
| 16. Stretch brake shoes and establish their top ends on the piston of the working brake cylinder. Connect a cable of the emergency brake to the lever of the emergency brake located on a back brake shoe. Establish the lower returnable spring on both brake shoes, establish the lower part of brake shoes on a support of blocks. |
| 17. Moving brake shoes, center them in relation to a brake board. Establish pins of a clamp of a block, a spring and a plate of fastening of a spring. |
| 18. Using the screw-driver, turn a wheel of an adjusting level so that to unclench brake shoes to a contact of the brake drum. |
| 19. Install the brake drum. |
| 20. Make replacement of brake shoes on the second back wheel. |
| 21. After replacement of brake shoes adjust a gap between them and the brake drum for what several times press a brake pedal. When pressing a pedal during the normal work of an adjusting level the clicks published by an adjusting level have to be heard. |
| 22. Check and if it is necessary, adjust the emergency brake. |
| 23. Check the level of brake fluid in system. |
