3.1.8. Mechanism of a tension of a gear belt and pulleys

Removal

CAMSHAFT PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative plug of the accumulator.
2. Combine adjusting openings on pulleys of distributive and cranked shaft with openings on the engine and record pulleys cores.
Models of the engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters
3. Remove the top casing of a gear belt.
4. Weaken a pulley of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt, turning a pulley the corresponding key of square section established in a pulley nave in the direction clockwise, and repeatedly tighten a bolt of fastening of a pulley.
5. Remove the blocking core from a cam-shaft pulley. Take off a gear belt from a cam-shaft pulley.
6. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cam-shaft. For prevention of rotation of a cam-shaft when unscrewing a bolt it is necessary to record a pulley from a provorachivaniye the special tool.
7. Remove a pulley from a cam-shaft.
Models of the engine 1.8 and 2.0 of liter
8. Remove the top and lower casings of a gear belt.
9. If necessary shift a plait of wires.
10. Support the engine by a jack and remove the right engine mount.
11. Weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a back branch of a belt for what turn a pulley clockwise.
12. Check that adjusting cores are in an opening of pulleys. Take off a gear belt from cam-shaft pulleys.
13. If pulleys are removed without naves, unscrew three bolts of fastening and remove a pulley.
14. If pulleys have to be removed with naves, then unscrew the central bolt of fastening of a nave. For prevention of rotation of a pulley of a cam-shaft it is necessary to use the special tool.
15. Unscrew three bolts of fastening of a pulley and remove a pulley from a nave. Unscrew a bolt of fastening of a nave and remove a nave. Pay attention that naves are noted for identification by figure on the face. On models of engines 1.8 liters the cam-shaft nave, the managing director of inlet valves, is noted by figure "1", and the cam-shaft nave, the managing director of final valves, is noted by figure "2". On models of engines 2.0 liters the cam-shaft nave, the managing director of inlet valves, is noted by figure "3", and the cam-shaft nave, the managing director of final valves, is noted by figure "4".

CRANKSHAFT PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative plug of the accumulator.
2. Combine adjusting openings on pulleys of distributive and cranked shaft with openings on the engine and record pulleys cores.
Engine models 1.6 liters
3. Remove the top, central and lower casings of a gear belt.
4. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt, turn a pulley clockwise and tighten a fastening bolt.
5. Take off a gear belt from a pulley of the crankshaft and remove a pulley from the crankshaft. Also remove a segment spline from the crankshaft.
6. Check consolidation of the crankshaft for tightness and, if necessary, replace it.
Models of the engine 1.8 and 2.0 of liter
7. Remove the top and lower casings of a gear belt.
8. If necessary shift a plait of wires.
9. Support the engine by a jack and remove the right engine mount.
10. Weaken a bolt of fastening of the mechanism of a tension of a back branch of a belt for what turn a pulley clockwise.
11. Check that adjusting cores are established in pulleys of cam-shafts. Take off a gear belt from a crankshaft pulley, then remove a pulley from the crankshaft together with a spline.
12. Check consolidation of the crankshaft for tightness and, if necessary, replace it.

PULLEYS OF THE MECHANISM OF THE TENSION AND SINGLE PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect the negative plug of the accumulator.
2. Combine adjusting openings on pulleys of distributive and cranked shaft with openings on the engine and record pulleys cores.
Engine models 1.6 liters
3. Remove top and, if necessary, central casings of a gear belt.
4. Unscrew a bolt of fastening and remove a pulley of the mechanism of a tension of a gear belt. Check a condition of details of the mechanism of a tension and, if necessary, replace them.
Liter models 1.8 and 2.0
5. Remove the top and lower casings of a gear belt.
6. If necessary move a plait of wires for improvement of access to the tension mechanism.
7. Support the engine by a jack and remove the right support of the engine.
8. Weaken a bolt of fastening of a pulley of the mechanism of a tension of a back branch of a gear belt and, using the key of square section established in a pulley nave turn a pulley clockwise and repeatedly tighten a fastening bolt.
9. Check that blocking cores are in adjusting openings of pulleys of camshafts and take off a gear belt from pulleys.
10. Unscrew bolts of fastening of the mechanism of a tension and a single pulley and remove them.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Clear all pulleys and check them for wear signs.
2. When cleaning pulleys of the mechanism of a tension it is impossible to use solvents which can get to bearings of a pulley and put them out of action. Pulleys have to rotate easily, without jammings and a side play.

Installation

CAMSHAFT PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Models of the engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters
1. Establish an arrangement reference point from the back party of a pulley. Establish a pulley on a cam-shaft so that the reference point of an arrangement was combined with the camshaft.
2. Screw up a bolt of fastening of a pulley. For fixing of a pulley from a provorachivaniye use the special instrument of fixing of a pulley.
3. Combine an opening in a cam-shaft pulley with an opening of a head and establish the blocking core. Check that the adjusting core also blocks a pulley of a bent shaft.
4. Establish a gear belt.
5. Pull a gear belt.
6. Establish casings of a gear belt.
Models of the engine 1.8 and 2.0 of liter
7. If pulleys and naves were removed, establish a nave on a cam-shaft according to marking of identification of a nave.
8. Screw up a bolt of fastening of a nave the required moment. Temporarily establish pulleys on a nave.
9. Turn a nave so that it was possible to establish a blocking core in an opening of a pulley of a head of the block of cylinders.
10. If only pulleys were removed, establish pulleys and screw them three bolts.
11. Establish and pull a gear belt.

CRANKSHAFT PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Models of the engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters
1. Establish laying and a segment spline in a crankshaft groove.
2. Establish a crankshaft pulley, combining a groove on a pulley with a segment spline.
3. Check that the adjusting core still blocks a cam-shaft pulley. Temporarily install a pulley of an auxiliary belt on the crankshaft and insert through it an adjusting core to check correctness of an arrangement of the crankshaft.
4. Remove a pulley of an auxiliary belt from the crankshaft. Establish a gear belt on a crankshaft pulley, a pulley of the water pump and a pulley of the mechanism of a tension.
5. Pull a gear belt.
6. Establish casings of a gear belt.
7. Install a pulley of an auxiliary belt on the crankshaft. Connect the negative plug to the accumulator.
Models of the engine 1.8 and 2.0 of liter
8. Establish a segment spline in a crankshaft groove.
9. Establish a crankshaft pulley, combining a groove on a pulley with a segment spline.
10. Establish and adjust a tension of a gear belt.

PULLEYS OF THE MECHANISM OF THE TENSION AND SINGLE PULLEYS

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Models 1.6 liters
1. Establish a pulley of the mechanism of a tension and screw in a fastening bolt, without tightening it.
2. Check that the forward branch of a belt is tense. Turn a tension mechanism pulley counterclockwise to choose all gap between a pulley and a gear belt.
3. Adjust a tension of a gear belt.
4. Install protection covers of a gear belt.
Models of the engine 1.8 and 2.0 of liter
5. Install the mechanism of a tension and single pulleys and fix them by bolts.
6. Establish a gear belt and adjust its tension.
