3.2.3. Installation of the mechanism of gas distribution

The tool for blocking of the mechanism of gas distribution


On all models there are adjusting openings in a cam-shaft pulley, a pulley of the fuel pump and a flywheel. Adjusting openings are used to install the crankshaft, a cam-shaft and the fuel pump in the situation excluding impact of pistons and valves at installation of a head of the block of cylinders or a gear belt.

When adjusting openings on pulleys are combined with openings in a head of the block of cylinders and the block of cylinders, it is necessary to insert adjusting cores into them (or the corresponding bolts) and to record a cam-shaft, the fuel pump and the crankshaft from a provorachivaniye. In this case the piston of the cylinder No. 4 is in the top dead point of a step of compression.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the top casing of a gear belt.
2. Turn the crankshaft before combination of openings in a pulley of a cam-shaft and a pulley of the fuel pump (one opening in a cam-shaft pulley, one or two openings in a pulley of the fuel pump) with openings in the engine. The crankshaft can be turned for a bolt of fastening of a pulley. For access to a bolt of fastening of a pulley remove a wheel arch from under a wing. If necessary, displace hoses with cooling liquid from a suspension bracket. Turn the crankshaft only clockwise if to look at the engine on the right side of the car.
3. Establish a core (it is specified by an arrow) with a diameter of 8 mm through an opening in the left ledge of the block of cylinders about a starter. If necessary, carefully turn the crankshaft until the core enters an opening in a flywheel.
4. On engines 2.1 liters access is limited also for installation of a core, perhaps, it is necessary to remove a starter.
5. Insert 8 mm a bolt (it is specified by an arrow) through an opening in a cam-shaft pulley (at the left – on the engine 1.9 liters, on the right – on the engine 2.1 liters).
6. Insert two (are specified by shooters) a bolt (at the left – on the engine 1.9 liters) or one (on the right – on the engine 2.1 liters) a bolt through a pulley of the fuel pump of high pressure and screw up them in the engine.
7. Crankshaft, a cam-shaft and the fuel pump are fixed in the situation preventing them from rotation.
