3.2.11. Cam-shaft and pushers

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Engines 1.9 liters
1. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
2. Remove a pulley from the camshaft.
3. Remove the vacuum pump of the brake system.
4. Covers of bearings of a cam-shaft are numbered from a flywheel (shooter). If covers are not numbered, mark them from a flywheel.
5. Gradually unscrew nuts and uncover cam-shaft bearings.
6. Remove a cam-shaft from a head of the block of cylinders. Remove a sealing ring from a cam-shaft from a gear belt. At installation use a new sealing ring.
7. Using a rubber sucker, take pushers and place them in the corresponding container so that at installation they got up everyone on the place. If it is necessary, remove adjusting laying from the top part of a core of the valve and you store it with the corresponding pusher.
Engines 2.1 liters
8. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders.
9. Remove a cam-shaft pulley.
10. Remove the vacuum pump of the brake system. Pick up the phone of supply of oil to the pump since the end of a cam-shaft.
11. Remove the giving and returnable fuel pipelines from fuel nozzles.
12. Remove an oil returnable hose from a forward part of the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
13. Gradually and consistently weaken and unscrew 16 bolts of fastening of the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
14. Remove the case of bearings of a cam-shaft together with a cam-shaft up.
15. Remove a sealing ring from the end of the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
16. Unscrew two bolts of fastening (are specified by shooters) a persistent plate of a cam-shaft, remove a plate and take a cam-shaft from the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
17. Prepare 12 plastic containers and number them from 1 to 8 for inlet valves and from 1 to 4 for final valves.
18. Unscrew two bolts of fastening (are specified by shooters) a persistent plate of a cam-shaft, remove a plate and take a cam-shaft from the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
19. Remove levers of valves (a photo at the left), laying (a photo on the right) and hydraulic pushers and place them in the corresponding containers.
20. Take an oil filter from a head of the block of cylinders.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Check the working surfaces of bearings of a cam-shaft and contours of cams for wear signs. With any wear the cam-shaft is subject to replacement. Check a condition of working surfaces of bearings in the case of bearings of a cam-shaft and necks of a cam-shaft. If the working surfaces of bearings are worn-out, then the case of bearings of a cam-shaft is subject to replacement.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Engines 1.9 liters
1. If it was removed, establish adjusting laying on a valve core. Not to interchange the position at all of laying since valvate gaps will be broken.
2. Grease with a thin butter layer and establish pushers.
3. Grease contours of cams and a neck of bearings of a cam-shaft with pure engine oil.
4. Temporarily establish a pulley of the crankshaft and combine adjusting openings in a pulley and a head of the block of cylinders, ledges of the 4th cylinder have to be directed up. Remove a pulley and establish a cam-shaft in a head of the block of cylinders, and ledges of the cylinder No. 4 have to be directed up. Check that the crankshaft is fixed by an adjusting core.
5. Establish a cover of the central bearing according to earlier made marking and screw nuts on two or three turns.
6. Apply sealant on a cover of bearings of a cam-shaft (zones of putting sealant are shown by shooters), establish them in required position and put the clamps on two or three turns.
7. Gradually and consistently tighten all nuts the required moment.
8. Using the probe, check an axial side play of a cam-shaft. To check a side play against the stop, move a cam-shaft by one end of a head of the block of cylinders and insert a probe edge between persistent surfaces of one of ledges of a cam-shaft and a cover of bearings.
9. If earlier removed cam-shaft is established, valvate gaps are not required to be regulated. Otherwise check and adjust valvate gaps. As the gear belt is not established yet, it is necessary to turn the crankshaft on a quarter of a turn in any party in order that pistons were in cylinders on a half of a piston stroke, i.e. any of pistons was not in the top dead point. It will prevent impact of pistons and valves at rotation of a cam-shaft.
10. Grease working edges of a new sealing ring with pure engine oil and establish it on a cam-shaft by working edges inside. Press it into a nest aflush with a cam-shaft bearing cover.
11. If the crankshaft was turned, it is necessary to turn it on as much back so that pistons of the first and fourth cylinders were in the top dead point. Do not turn the crankshaft at all at a big size since pistons of the second and third cylinders can move to the provision of the top dead point and there will be their impact to valves.
12. Insert an adjusting core for fixing of a flywheel.
13. Establish a cam-shaft pulley.
14. Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
Engines 2.1 liters
15. Grease with a thin butter layer a cam-shaft and necks of bearings in the case of bearings of a cam-shaft and insert the case of bearings into a cam-shaft. Establish a persistent plate and fix by two bolts.
16. Grease hydraulic pushers and place them in the corresponding openings.
17. Grease laying and levers and place them over the corresponding valves (installation of laying is shown on a photo at the left, installation of the lever of the valve – on a photo on the right).
18. Insert a new oil filter into an opening in a head of the block of cylinders.
19. Grease working edges of a new sealing ring of a cam-shaft and establish on a cam-shaft.
20. Press a sealing ring into a nest with use of the hammer and a mandrel.
21. Apply sealant between a flute and an outer edge of the plane of the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
22. Install the case of bearings of a cam-shaft with a cam-shaft on a head of the block of cylinders. At the same time do not displace levers of valves.
23. Establish bolts of fastening and screw up them in the spiral sequence, from the center outside, gradually tightening bolts till the required moment.
24. Repeatedly connect an oil returnable hose to a forward part of the case of bearings of a cam-shaft.
25. Attach the giving and returnable fuel-supply lines to fuel nozzles.
26. Make sure that the pipe of supply of oil is in the place, and install the vacuum pump of the brake system.
27. Establish a cam-shaft pulley.
28. Establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
