9. Power shafts

The torque from the engine on forward wheels is transmitted through two steel power shafts of different length.

The external ends of power shafts are inserted into a nave of a wheel and fixed by nuts. The internal ends of power shafts are established and fixed in differential.

The Hinges of Equal Angular Speeds (HEAS) are established from two parties of power shafts and provide smooth and effective torque transmission during the work of a suspension bracket and turn of forward wheels. The external CV JOINT consists of the case, a separator, an internal holder and balls. In the case of the hinge and a holder flutes for placement of balls are made. Flutes of the longitudinal plane are executed on radius that provides a big angle of rotation of the external hinge. The internal hinge differs from external in the fact that instead of balls the rollers fixed on driving to a shaft are used.

On the right side, because of the big length of a power shaft, the internal hinge is located approximately on the middle of length of a shaft, and the intermediate bearing of support is fixed in a suspension bracket of installation of the power unit.
