Technical characteristics

Protection against theft: the coded device with a 4-unit code.

Remote control from a steering column: the lever with governing bodies installed on a steering column to the right of a steering wheel.

Radio receiver: output power: 4х12 W (4х3,5 W at coefficient of nonlinear distortions to 1%). System of radio data of RDS.

Frequency ranges of the radio receiver:

 – FM: 87,5–108 MHz;
 – MW: 531–1629 kHz;
 – LW: 144–288 kHz.

The number of the fixed settings:

 – FM (automatic storing in the AST mode): 6;
 – FM (manual storing): 12 (2 subranges of FM1 and FM2 on 6 stations);
 – MW (manual storing): 6;
 – LW (manual storing): 6.

The coded device against theft

The device is executed on the basis of the microprocessor. After disconnection of the autoradio tape recorder from the car power supply network (removal of the accumulator, dismantle of the radio tape recorder or its initial installation) it is necessary to enter a safety code. The radio tape recorder will be able to be switched on only after input of the correct code.

Input of a code

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn on the radio tape recorder the ON button. Press the button of 1 preliminary control. On the display will appear 0---. Press several times the buttons 17 or 19 that on the display the first figure of a code appeared (7---).
2. For confirmation of input of the first figure and transition to input of the second figure of a code press the button 1. On the display will appear 70---. Press several times the buttons 17 or 19 that on the display the second figure of a code appeared (73-).
3. Do these operations for input of the correct code and in conclusion press the button 1 for confirmation of input of the fourth figure of a code. If the entered code true, then is heard a short signal of high-pitch tone. The radio tape recorder is ready to work.

Case of input of an incorrect code

If at input of a code the mistake was made, the short signal of low tone will be distributed. On the display the message "ERR CODE" will appear. Repetition of attempt of input of a code is possible only after a pause 1 minute. Duration of the period of expectation increases twice after one more unsuccessful attempt. This period is limited for about 32 minutes. Switching off of the radio tape recorder does not influence duration of an obligatory pause. Counting of time of a pause will be started over again at turning on of the radio tape recorder. After the termination of a pause on the display the message of "CODE" will appear. Now it is possible to enter a code.

The indicator 7 of red color blinks at the included ignition, indicating turning on of the protection device against theft. The indicator dies away at inclusion of ignition or the radio tape recorder.

After a detachment or repeated connection of the accumulator on the display of the radio tape recorder the message of "CODE" is displayed. Enter a code.

Audio system

Inclusion and switching off is made by the ON button. If ignition is switched off, the radio tape recorder will automatically be switched-off in 1 hour.

Features of reception of radio signals

The radio receiver can accept signals of system of radio data of RDS. If the signal to the chosen radio station in the range of FM satisfies to the RDS standard, the receiver is automatically adjusted on that frequency which provides the best quality of reception.

Choice of radio station (automatic search)

Press the button 17 or 19 (cm. rice. The forward panel and governing bodies) to start automatic search and control for radio station. By search there takes place scanning of the chosen range which is reflected in the display. After control for the next on signal frequency radio station on the display the frequency of broadcasting of this station is fixed. If THAT mode is included, automatic search is limited only to RDS stations which transfer road messages. THAT mode is one of the functions provided with the RDS system.

Automatic search can be included also by means of the lever of remote control on a steering column.

By search of radio stations manually press and hold the buttons 17 or 19.
Prevention

If after scanning of all range any broadcasting radio station is not found, the radio receiver passes into the mode of search of remote stations with weaker signal.

Storing of settings for radio stations

By means of six buttons 1-6 it is possible to adjust previously the receiver on 30 stations: 6 stations in the subrange of FM1, 6 stations in the subrange of FM2, 6 stations in the range of AST, 6 stations in the range of MW, 6 stations in LW range. Frequencies of six stations in the range of AST are brought in memory automatically. Storing of the fixed settings for the chosen radio stations working in other ranges are made manually.

Manual storing of control for the chosen station

Choose desirable range (except AST). Adjust the receiver on any station. Press one of six buttons 1-6 and hold it not less than 2 seconds. Wait for a short sound signal which confirms storing of a current setting of the receiver. The fixed control brought in memory new replaces the previous radio station corresponding to this button of preliminary control in this range in memory.

Automatic storing of radio stations in FM range

The AST function provides automatic search and storing of setup of the receiver on 6 most powerful stations working in FM range. This function can be used only in FM range. In attempt to include the AST function in the range of MW or LW you will hear a short signal of low tone and on the display the message "NO AST" will appear. Press the AST 16 button and hold it not less than 2 seconds. At the same time you will hear a short signal of low tone. On the display the message "FM AST" will appear. The receiver will automatically bring in memory of frequency of six most powerful radio stations in the range of preliminary control. After storing of control for 6 stations the receiver will give a short sound signal and will be adjusted on the frequency corresponding to the button of 1 choice of preliminary control. At repeated inclusion of the AST function new frequencies of six most powerful radio stations replace the old frequencies stored in memory. If the receiver cannot find in range of FM of 6 working stations, in the cells of memory which remained free the 0:00 AST code is brought (which is brought to the display when pressing the corresponding buttons of the choice of preliminary control). At AST function inclusion when the receiver works in THAT mode, the priority of storing is given to those stations which can transfer road messages.

Storing of radio stations at the switched-off AF function

If storing of the stations working in FM range in the standard of the RDS system was made at the switched-off AF function, then inclusion of preliminary setup of the receiver does not lead to automatic inclusion of the AF function (the AF function provides the choice of one of frequencies of broadcasting of the station at which reception of a signal differs in the best quality).

System of radio data of RDS

The receiver decodes information transferred along with the main FM a radio signal and uses it for optimization of quality of reception and a conclusion to the display of the name of the chosen station.

Main functions of the RDS system

Optimization of reception of a radio signal (AF function). If the radio station conducts simultaneous broadcasting at several frequencies, then the receiver automatically chooses that frequency which provides the best conditions of reception.

Name of radio station. If the station broadcasts in the RDS standard, the name of the accepted station is output to the display of the radio tape recorder instead of the frequency of a signal and range.

Reception of road messages (THAT mode). The RDS system allows to accept operational information about a road situation, even when the player of audio cassettes is switched on. THAT mode has a priority in front of the cartridge. The RDS system provides also reception of messages on a road situation which are transferred by other radio stations entering into EON network.

Optimization of reception of a radio signal

The included AF function becomes active at deterioration of reception of a radio signal. The AF function becomes more active automatically at change of setup of the receiver (frequency or range). An exception is the case of control for previously chosen station if storing of control was made at the switched-off AF function.

The indicator of the AF function works as follows:

 – the indicator burns constantly if several transmitters of radio station work;
 – the indicator blinks if:

  • the radio station broadcasts not in the RDS standard. The indicator automatically ceases to blink 2 minutes later after the beginning of reception of a signal of this station;
  • the radio station broadcasts in the RDS standard, but only at one frequency;
  • the car is on border of a zone of consistent reception of a signal of the transmitter of radio station (or the antenna is in a radio shadow zone). At the same time the last frequency of setup of the receiver remains without change.

Search of frequency of a radio signal on border of a zone of consistent reception

If the car left or is on border of a zone of consistent reception of a radio signal of the transmitter, the receiver runs for search of other frequency of the same radio station. Search can continue several seconds. During search of other frequency of broadcasting of radio station to the display of the radio tape recorder the message of "SEEK+ [the name of the station]" is displayed. If other frequency providing better reception is not found, former setup of the receiver remains. At change of frequency of setup of the receiver the short break of sounding can be observed. In the course of search of new frequency of the station the AF indicator continues to blink.

AF function switching off

Press the TA/AF 21 button and hold it not less than two seconds to include the AF function. At the same time the AF indicator will go out, and search of the frequency providing the best quality of reception to stop. Irrespective of change of quality of reception of a radio signal setup of the receiver will remain at that frequency which was at the time of AF function switching off.

Road information (THAT mode)

At inclusion of THAT mode the priority is given to messages on a road situation which are transferred by RDS stations. During the similar message listening of the current transfer or reproduction of the cartridge automatically stop. During transfer of road information the cartridge becomes on a pause, on the display the alternating messages of "TRAFFIC" and "[the name of radio station] are given", all buttons of control of the receiver are switched-off, the possibility of adjustment of a sound remains. After end of the road message loudness automatically comes back to initial level. At the same time the cartridge turns on.

Some features of operation of the receiver in THAT mode

At the included THAT mode automatic search is carried out only among the stations capable to transfer messages on a road situation. Similarly at automatic storing (AST function) of stations with the most powerful signals the priority is given those from them which work in the RDS standard and are capable to transfer messages on a road situation.

Inclusion of THAT mode

Turn on the receiver in FM range. Press briefly the TA/AF 21 button. On the display THAT indicator will light up. Operation of the receiver in THAT mode is possible only at control for the station capable to transfer road messages. A sign that the receiver is ready for such station is the switched-on TR indicator on the display. If the receiver is ready for the station which cannot transfer road messages, the warning sound signal will be distributed.

Interruption of the message on a road situation

For interruption of the message shortly press the TA/AF 21 button. At the same time THAT mode remains included and THAT indicator continues to burn on the display. Also the message is interrupted automatically if the signal becomes too weak.

Switching off of THAT mode

In an interval between messages shortly press THAT / AF 21 button. THAT indicator will go out.

Road information (EON mode)

The EON mode of the RDS system expands possibilities of the receiver working in THAT mode. If the receiver is ready for any station not capable to transfer road information, the EON mode allows to watch other stations which can transfer this information automatically. Then by transfer of the similar message listening of the station for which the receiver is ready will be temporarily interrupted for reception of road information. At setup of the receiver for any station entering into EON network on the display the EON indicator lights up. The EON mode can be used only at the included THAT mode. During listening of the message transferred by the station entering into EON network the name of this station is issued for the display.
